The Lounge Newsletter: Goats and llamas and a new month, oh my! 🐐
And just like that, it's May.
Does anyone else feel they're showing up after April, like "Hi, I'm here that went by really quick"? (See this baby goat for reference.) Or are you more in the "last month felt like it lasted for ages" camp and can relate to this llama? Truthfully, we've been feeling weary from existing in a sustained state of uncertainty, and we want you to know that it's okay if you're feeling this way too.
With it being the start of both mental health awareness month and GNI's HowDoIDeal campaign, we wanted to share some suggestions for how you might invest in your mental health this week:
Monday (that's today!): Check in with yourself. How are you, really?
Tuesday: Consider starting a "mental health" Instagram folder for saved resources like this post.
Wednesday: Make a connection, whether that means tuning into our watch party or sending a loved one a text.
Thursday: Go on a walk — the rain is supposed to subside today!
Friday: Read this journal piece featuring real conversations with real therapists about ways to look after our mental health during times like these.
Saturday: Give yourself permission to rest.
Sunday: Have an at-home stretch session to prep your body for the new week ahead.
Trust us, we know it's tricky under these circumstances, but managing our time is an important tool in our pursuit of mental health. Today, we're going to be asking ourselves: how can we frame our days and weeks so that we can take this month at our own pace?
